Boarding Schools are tuition-based private schools where students typically live in dormitories throughout the school year and go home during holidays and summer time. Boarding schools may also allow local students to attend without requiring overnight stay.

In the Unites States, boarding schools can range offerings from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Most commonly this type of school start with 7th grade or 9th grade and continue through 12th grade.
